Overview
The Alius Robot Joint Module is a high-performance servo joint module engineered specifically for humanoid and quadruped robots. By integrating the motor, reducer, encoder, and driver into a single compact housing, the Alius Joint Module delivers exceptional power density and reliability, meeting the demanding requirements of next-generation biomimetic robots for agility, precision, and durability.
Product Positioning
In modern biomimetic robot systems, joint actuators are the core components that determine robot motion performance. Traditional approaches require separate motor, reducer, encoder, and driver components to be connected through mechanical structures and cabling, which consumes significant space and introduces issues such as large cumulative error, complex wiring, and difficult maintenance.
The Alius Joint Module adopts an all-in-one design philosophy, integrating all the aforementioned functional components within a standardized module housing. This dramatically simplifies the design and assembly process of robot joints while enhancing overall system reliability.
Key Features
High Power Density Design
The joint module employs an advanced inner-rotor motor design and efficient thermal management solution, delivering peak torque output of up to 200 N·m within a compact volume. The module housing serves both as a structural support and as a heat dissipater, ensuring thermal stability during prolonged high-load operation.
High-Precision Position Feedback
Equipped with a 19-bit absolute encoder, the module provides a theoretical position resolution of 0.0015°, ensuring precise motion control of the robot joint. The use of an absolute encoder eliminates the need for homing procedures after each power-up, significantly improving system startup efficiency.
Flexible Gear Ratio Configuration
Three gear ratio options are available—50:1, 100:1, and 160:1—covering a wide range of applications from high-speed low-torque to low-speed high-torque requirements. The reduction mechanism uses a planetary harmonic reducer, combining high rigidity, low backlash, and long service life.
Versatile Communication Interfaces
Supporting both CAN and CAN-FD communication protocols, the module is compatible with mainstream robot controllers and bus architectures. The adoption of CAN-FD significantly increases communication bandwidth, enabling multi-joint coordinated control and real-time status feedback.
